  • High Sky Design comes to Sedona

May 15, 2002 - Sedona is a long way from Washington, DC -- not just in miles, but also in culture, lifestyle, and landscape. That's exactly what brought web designer Korina Adkins here.

"I needed a change, and Sedona was calling me. It just happened"

Korina's parents have both lived in Sedona for the past two years, giving her plenty of chance to visit and get the lay of the land. After months of mulling the pros and cons, logic wasn't yielding an answer as to whether she should stay in the Washington area, or move across the country to Arizona. It ended up being a simple "moment of clarity" that cinched it.

"It was as if the clouds had parted, and I just had to go.

She sold half of her possessions, and loaded the rest (plus two cats and a dog) into a truck and headed out, determined to set up Sedona's premiere web design firm - High Sky Design. The next chapter is yet to be written.

Enterpulse surveyed 301 ëheavy‰ Internet users about their online habits and found that 66 percent of respondents never return to a website where they have a negative experience.

Factors likely to influence a negative experience include ease-of-use, not being up-to-date and simple navigation.

Around 99 percent of respondents said that a site that ëworks well‰ is very important. However, 43 percent said they were disappointed with site performance.

CyberAtlas: Increase in online requests for quotes

May 16 2002: Internet users in the US are increasingly using the Net to request quotes from local businesses, reports CyberAtlas.

According to a study from Respond Networks, online request for quotes from the service industry have increased by 180 percent in the past 14 months.

The report also indicates that 60 percent of all online quote requests are for services, rather than hard goods.

Ten of the top 50 service categories in which online quotes are requested, are travel-related, while six are insurance-related.

The study reveals that more than 15 percent of all consumers looking for products and services on the Net fall outside of any metropolitan area.
